Taylor & Zane’s Outdoor Cafe Detente Wedding in Youngsville
Some wedding days just align. The weather cooperated, the venues delivered, and the wisteria decided to bloom right on schedule. Taylor and Zane’s outdoor Cafe Detente wedding was exactly that kind of day. The kind where the universe seems to conspire in favor of two people who are clearly meant to be together. There are 35mm film frames scattered all through this gallery. A day this pretty deserved it.
Getting Ready at a Modern A-Frame Near Rip Van Winkle Gardens
The day started at a pair of modern A-frames tucked away in New Iberia, minutes from Rip Van Winkle Gardens, where the wisteria was in full bloom. Those cascading purple flowers created a backdrop so perfectly coordinated with Taylor’s color palette that you’d swear we planned it months in advance. We absolutely did not. Sometimes Louisiana just shows up for you. Her bouquet from Root Floral, on the other hand, was no accident. Blush ranunculus, garden roses, and little pops of blue, pulled straight from the same palette the wisteria decided to show up in.
Taylor looked stunning in her gown from Town and Country. Verde Beauty handled hair and makeup, and the results were flawless for the spring weather we were blessed with.

A Ceremony Under the Oaks at Keystone Oaks Estate
Zane’s family has a personal connection to Keystone Oaks Estate, and I completely understand why they wanted to exchange vows there. A massive oak canopy dripping with Spanish moss was quintessential Louisiana beauty at its finest. What really elevated the space were the wooden church pews they brought in. Can we talk about how different that feels compared to standard ceremony chairs? There’s something grounded and intentional about those pews that chairs simply cannot replicate.
Right before the ceremony began, we were able to pull off a quick and unique father/daughter first look with Taylor sneaking out the back of the trolley. Such a fun moment!
Their dog walked down the aisle (how sweet is that?), and their personal friend Kalif officiated the ceremony. When the person marrying you actually knows your love story, every word carries more weight.
Zane & Taylor got to exchange personally written vows with light pouring through the moss with the prettiest weather we had all year.

The Secret Garden Party Reception at Cafe Detente
Cafe Detente in Youngsville is one of Acadiana’s best-kept secrets, though I suspect that won’t last much longer. The indoor-outdoor setup creates this eclectic garden party atmosphere that felt perfectly aligned with Taylor and Zane’s vision. Whimsical, fun, and completely their own.
The florals at the reception stayed intentionally minimal, simple bud vases on the tables, letting the garden setting do the talking.
After a choreographed first dance (these two came prepared to perform), guests sat down to a meal that was deeply personal. Taylor and Zane have a relationship with the chef at Scratch, so dinner featured their actual favorite foods prepared by someone who knows them.
Once the sun went down, the party moved under the Veiller Pavilion and things got rowdy in the best way. Guests cycled through the refurbished Airstream photo booth all night, and at some point homemade pizza appeared. Of course it did. These two know how to throw a party.

What Made This Outdoor Cafe Detente Wedding Unforgettable
The energy between Taylor and Zane. They would have had just as much fun if not a single guest had shown up. The way Zane makes Taylor laugh, the kind that takes over her whole face, was a joy to watch. These two have found something rare and real. They ended the night with a sparkler exit. The two of them ran through a tunnel of light lined with friends and family, laughing the whole way.
