Top New Orleans Wedding Venues For A Classic Wedding Day



Being a photographer in New Orleans sometimes feels like having the most amazing backstage pass to the city’s many venues. My camera has been a ticket to see some of the most beautiful and unique corners of the city. I know trying to pick out the perfect spot can be overwhelming so I put together a list of my personal favorites. These spots will both photograph beautifully and give you that classic wedding vibe you’re searching for.

Marigny Opera House


In the Marigny area, there is a gorgeously renovated 19th-century chapel called the Marigny Opera House. The location has stunning stained-glass windows, high ceilings, and a stage that is ideal for ceremonies. The front of the building is just as stunning as the inside and can serve as an iconic background. It also has a charming side yard that can be used for cocktail hour or reception overflow. Up to 300 people can be accommodated at the Marigny Opera House.



Race & Religious 


In the Bywater district, there is a unique wedding location called Race and Religious. Two old houses that are joined by a courtyard and a gorgeous garden make up the venue. Eclectic art and furnishings, exposed brick walls, and vibrant mosaics are all part of the eclectic decor. Race and Religious has space for up to 150 guests.




Il Mercato


A beautiful villa in the Mediterranean style called Il Mercato can be found in the Garden District. The location has a large ballroom, a beautiful garden, and a huge courtyard that are ideal for outdoor weddings. Up to 250 people can be accommodated at Il Mercato, which also provides on-site cuisine.



Audubon Tea Room


The Audubon Tea Room, a stunning wedding location that mixes contemporary conveniences with classic elegance, is situated in the storied Audubon Park. The location has a large ballroom with high ceilings, tasteful chandeliers, and floor-to-ceiling windows that offer stunning views of the nearby park. Wedding ceremonies and cocktail celebrations are ideal amid the venue’s extensive grounds and outdoor terrace. With space for 650 guests, the Audubon Tea Room is a fantastic choice for bigger weddings. 



Elm’s Mansion


The Elms Mansion, a magnificent example of Greek Revival architecture, is situated in the Garden District. The mansion, which was constructed in 1869, has a ballroom, a large entrance hall, and lovely outdoor gardens. The grand staircase of the mansion or a lovely gazebo in the garden are two options for where couples might exchange their vows. Up to 300 guests may be accommodated at The Elms Mansion.



Old Ursuline Convent


The Old Ursuline Convent is a well-kept eighteenth-century formal French garden. The Convent grounds are adorned with statuary gardens and private courtyards, which will elegantly define your wedding reception. A sizable tent space is also included with the Convent.



Felicity Church


In the Lower Garden District, Felicity Church is a beloved wedding location. With its gorgeous Gothic Revival-style structure, towering ceilings, stained-glass windows, and lovely wooden beams, the location offers a distinctive and beautiful setting for any wedding. Also, the location features a lovely courtyard that is ideal for outdoor wedding ceremonies and cocktail celebrations. Felicity Church is a fantastic choice for bigger weddings because it can accommodate up to 350 people. 



New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA)


In the center of City Park, there is a remarkable wedding location called the New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA). A lovely sculpture garden with a lagoon and meandering walks is located outside the museum and is a lovely location for outdoor wedding ceremonies and cocktail receptions. The location also features a number of indoor areas, including a huge ballroom with high ceilings and lovely garden views. The skilled staff at NOMA can host weddings of any size, from small, private affairs to massive events with up to 1,000 people. NOMA offers a venue for a New Orleans wedding that is absolutely unforgettable with its spectacular art collections and breathtaking grounds.



Marché


Marché is a lovely wedding location situated in the old French Market. The site has a lovely courtyard with a fountain that is encircled by flowers and lush vegetation. The indoor atmosphere is lovely and private for any wedding, featuring exposed brick walls, gorgeous drapery, and crystal chandeliers. 200 guests can be accommodated at Marché.
