Gabrielle & Tyler’s City Park Micro Wedding | New Orleans Wedding Photography
When Gabrielle and Tyler flew in from Arizona with about a dozen of their favorite people, they knew exactly what they wanted for their City Park micro wedding. Gabby described it perfectly: “ethereal garden with Cajun flair.” And honestly? City Park delivered everything and more.
The day started at the Omni in the French Quarter where Gabrielle got ready. Her Ohana Bridal gown was absolutely stunning, and her glam team killed it – Styled by Amira did her hair and Maddie G handled makeup. We snuck down to the hotel’s courtyard for some really special first look moments – first with her dad (cue the tears!), then with Tyler. I’m not crying, you’re crying!
After capturing all those sweet getting-ready moments, we headed over to City Park for the main event. Michele Zeller officiated their ceremony right under those gorgeous oaks, and honestly, you couldn’t ask for a more romantic setting. Natural shade, Spanish moss, the dappled sunlight, that fountain in the background – perfect New Orleans atmosphere.
One of my favorite touches? Gabrielle and Tyler brought parasols for some of their portraits – such a sweet nod to New Orleans culture! We wandered around the park finding all the best spots. With a micro wedding, you actually have TIME to explore and create these beautiful portraits without feeling rushed.
And here’s where they really embraced that New Orleans spirit – instead of doing the whole wedding cake thing, everyone walked over to Café Du Monde for beignets! The whole wedding party just hanging out, getting covered in powdered sugar, laughing together. That’s the kind of moment you remember forever.
Why City Park Micro Weddings Work
What really struck me about Gabby and Tyler’s day was how relaxed everyone was. With just family there, they could actually talk to everyone, hug everyone, share real moments with each person. No receiving line marathon, no table-hopping all night – just quality time with the people who raised them and love them most.
If you’re thinking about a City Park micro wedding, just know it’s one of those places that does all the work for you. Those oak trees are better than any decoration you could buy, and having Café Du Monde right there? Perfect for couples who want something uniquely New Orleans.
Gabby and Tyler, thanks for letting me be part of your perfect day! Arizona is lucky to have y’all, but I love that New Orleans gets to be part of your story forever.
