A crisp fall day couldn’t have been a more beautiful setting to commemorate Sophie and Mathew’s Paris vow renewal. Sophie & Matthieu are so in love its contagious. They look like kids in high school falling in love for the first time while in reality they’ve been married for awhile. I love that. These guys were so awesome to photograph because they were so comfortable with each other and had amazing chemistry. Sophie’s blue dress was in perfect contrast to Paris’ fall colors. We couldn’t have asked for a better setting with the Eiffel Tower in the back of this lovely spot in the Trocadéro area. Rosemary & Finch made the most amazing florals for this shoot! You may have seen the portraits of Mary (of Rosemary & Finch) & Ben earlier on the blog. I was able to be a part of this shoot when I traveled to Paris last fall for some mentoring. This was an amazing experience and I am always willing to head back to Paris and capture a love story. Paris is always a good idea.
When Danielle explained to me her vision for her bridals I got super excited. I loved the idea of a clean, classic and elegant session. Parc Lafayette is such a beautiful and perfect setting for this style. Danielle is such a beautiful bride. I’m so glad I’m finally able to share these.
I still can’t believe that I traveled back to Paris to do some mentoring and shooting. Mary & Ben came to do the florals for our styled shoot and I was so thrilled that we were able to squeeze in a couples shoot with them. They are so in love and comfortable with each other that it was so easy to photograph them. They had this amazing chemistry and it was a joy to capture that. We couldn’t have asked for a better backdrop because the fall colors in Jardin du Luxembourg are so beautiful. Mary is an amazing florist! You should check out her work at Rosemary & Finch!
Sometimes the beauty of this state really takes my breath away. We are so luck to live in a such a beautiful place. Renee and I talked about a lot of different locations for her bridals and I think she made a wonderful choice by deciding on Myrtle’s Planation in St. Francisville. I loved Renee’s dress. It was so elegant and it really suited her.
When Randi at Poppy Lane Events invited to me photograph this styled shoot that she had been working on I was over the moon! She has such a great eye and I was so happy to be a part of this amazing project. We were lucky enough to shoot at a stunning private residence in the heart of Baton Rouge with the exact courtyard that Randi had in mind. I’m so grateful to all the vendors who worked hard on this project. These kind of shoots are so creatively fulfilling and being featured on Borrowed & Blue was just lagniappe at the end of the day.

I love going to new places, its so inspiring to me. I was so excited when Renee invited me up to New Roads to take their engagement portraits right in the back yard. When I got there I understood why. It is gorgeous there. It was also one of those days where the weather was lovely and the light was perfect! And how lucky were we that we found a field of wildflowers right on her family’s land?
I had such an amazing experience working with Simone & Cody. I loved getting to know them as a couple. Being a family friend I knew I was going to be in for a party and I wasn’t disappointed. It was an honor to capture so much fun and love in one day.
